Owning Your Health With Vitamins

Health is wealth. That is a standard inarguable fact. Good health means less trips to the doctor’s and fewer days spent at home in bed. Generally, less money spent on meds, consultation, and maybe surgeries.

Another popular saying goes: ‘prevention is better than cure’, and it is for this reason that we keep getting health tips such as: ‘Eat your vegetables, take 6 litres of water a day, run 8 miles every week, take your vitamins’ etc.

Well, all of these are true and should be taken with the utmost importance – especially the part about vitamins. Improving your diet is the best way to make sure your body gets more vitamins and, through a combination of eating right and any supplements from somewhere like this online supplement store that you wish to take, this shouldn’t be difficult to do.

The importance of vitamins cannot possibly be overemphasised as their health benefits are numerous. In fact, taking a lot of vitamins is one great way of being proactive about your health.
Vitamins are divided into categories.

There are the fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K), and the water soluble vitamins (B and C). All of these have significant effects on the body system.
Vitamin B has five supplements – B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6. Of course, there are other B supplements like B4, B8, B16 and the likes, but they are not vitamins. The B vitamins starting from B1 to B6 have their respective uses.

B1 helps in steady energy supply and improvement of nerves and muscle function. B2 aids in red blood cells production and maintenance of energy supply to the muscle. B3 metabolises fats, glucose, alcohol, and also reduces the level of bad cholesterol in the body’s system.

B5 oxidizes fatty acid, carbohydrate and facilitates the formation of red blood cells; it also corrects function of adrenal glands. Lastly, B6 helps in red blood cell production, detoxification of the liver, development of and proper functioning of the brain and nervous system. Amazing, isn’t it? You would be building the perfect body with all of these.

Vitamin C helps in blood circulation and also cures common cold. It can be gotten from meals like guava, broccoli, tuna, banana, salmon, kiwi fruits, mackerel, and clams – just like other B vitamins.
Moving on to fat soluble vitamins, Vitamin A gives healthy teeth and helps in skeletal formation.

Vitamin D, also known as the sunshine vitamin, reduces incidents of fractured bones by a significant rate and slows down the progression of osteoporosis. Vitamin E, on the other hand, balances cholesterol and prevents the development of diseases, while Vitamin K helps in building strong bones and blood clotting.

These vitamins are quite easy to get and are considerably affordable too. Stick to your fish diet and greens, and you are good to go.

Deficiencies of any of these vitamins could result in a number of downsides ranging from excessive bleeding to easily fractured bones, canker sores, dry and cracked lips, blindness, light sensitivity, fatigue, low mood, indigestion, coordination difficulties, anaemia, and so much more.

Prevention is better than cure, did we agree? Well, wouldn’t you rather stay on the safe side and take in more vitamins today?ᐧ

I completely agree with you but what about those who hardly get time to eat? I am a psychologist, a multinational businesswoman, a blogger and a painter I hardly get off even. My bp is also low last I checked yesterday it was 90/60. Half of my day spends with coffee. Can you suggest something for me?

Now I’m hungry:) I have a blood disorder, liver failure and more recently heart issues. Each doctor has given me “guidelines” and somedays I feel like I can’t eat anything. Low salts, low fat, low carbs, low vitamin K, low animal protein, low sugar and I’m pretty sure I’m missing something. I crave spinach but it always throws my labwork off. Im learning to eat everything in small amounts and adjusting my medication around them. Drinking water is an easy one for me but if you want me to run 8 miles a day, we have to talk! LOL

Better safe than sorry for sure. That is especially true when it comes to our health. I stress that to my kids all of the time when they’re wanting something sugary or non-nutritional to eat.

I take a daily vitamin that has the amount of each vitamin that I need a day. There have been days when I didn’t take my vitamin because I forgot or was too busy and I definitely noticed I didn’t feel as great on those days. I agree that taking a vitamin is important for your health. I also have an autoimmune disease and there are certain vitamins that help it stay under control along with other medicines. Great post on the importance of taking vitamins.
